Environmental Applications
Many environmental remediation projects require water treatment processes to capture and remove transition metals. PSI Resins can be used in applications including mining and industrial water treatment and acid mine drainage. When used in conjunction with other treatment processes, PSI Resins can often help clean waste waters to meet EPA Standards for return to the environment. In many cases, the cost of treatment may be cash flow positive.
PSI RESINS IN ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION- Operating range for metal recovery = pH 0 - 7
- Recover base metals from 0.01 - 10g/l feed liquors (resin, liquor matrix and pH dependent)

PSI APPLICATIONS
Acid Mine Drainage
- Copper recovered from tailings dam. 50m3/hr fixed bed process at pH1.5. PSI CuWRAM used to recover copper and return to leach pad for recovery in cementation circuit. Treated water met standards for return to environment.
- Heavy metals recovered from mining waste stream. 800m3/hr fixed bed process at pH3.5.
- Copper and zinc recovered from ground water incursion on major construction site. 40m3/hr fixed bed system at pH 6.5. Water meets EPA Standards and is returned to the environment.
