With ever increasing community concerns, government legislation and improved corporate governance companies worldwide are devoting money and resources to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The Purity Systems Inc. ion exchange resin technology is ideally suited to the treatment of environmental streams for transition metal removal. In many instances the cost of the treatment may be cash flow positive due to the sale of any value metals present.
For high flow applications it may be necessary to use up-front technology, such as membranes, to initially concentrate the metals and to reduce the flow rate to the ion exchange plant in order to be cost effective with the membrane permeate deporting to discharge, or recycle back to process. Purity Systems Inc. can advise on economics of doing so, if required.
Treatment of sludge for metals removal to achieve compliance with disposal as landfill, or other alternatives, it is first necessary to bring the metals into solution, most commonly by acid leaching. Purity Systems Inc. can advise on the leaching methods available for doing so, if required.
