PSI WP-1 Ion Exchange Resin

PRIMARY APPLICATION: Recovery of platinum and paladium from sub-zero pH liquors

At sub-zero pH, WP-1^® will load Pt & Pd while rejecting all base metals and other impurities. As the resin is amorphous silica based, the loaded resin is suitable for sale to smelters thereby providing a cost effective process route for Pt & Pd recovery. Loading capacities are usually in excess of 150 mg/g. As an alternative of sale to smelter, the precious metals may be eluted from the resin. Please contact PSI for technical advice on this processing route.

SECONDARY APPLICATION: Transition metals recovery

WP-1^® resin will load Cu⁺², Ni⁺², Co⁺², Zn⁺², Fe⁺², Fe⁺³, Mn⁺² and Al⁺³ from process liquors in the pH range of 3 to 10 and is especially effective where dissolved chelators, such as EDTA, are present in the feed liquor. As is common with all of the Purity Systems Inc. range, WP-1^® will reject sodium, potassium and calcium ⁺² ions.
